Applying for a school place

Admissions to the school are processed by the Local Authority as part of the Derbyshire Coordinated Admissions Scheme. You will find guidance about application dates and access to online application forms for primary school places via this link Apply for a school place - Derbyshire County Council

The Published Admissions Number (PAN) for the school is 45 pupils in Reception and 40 across Year groups 1 to 6.

Admissions for 2025/2026

For admissions in September 2025:

  • The application round opens on 11th November 2024 and closes on 15 January 2025
  • The offer date for the September 2025 intake is 16th April 2025 (National Offer Day)

In-Year Admissions

  • If you would like to make an in-year admission to move or change schools, please contact the Local Authority at any point in the year on the link above.

Apply for a primary or infant school place

  • If your child was born between 1 September 2020 - 31 August 2021 your child will be eligible to start school in September 2025.

You should apply for their infant or primary school place by 15 January 2025.

Appeals 

If your child has been refused a place and you would like to appeal against the decision, please see below further information on making an appeal.

In-year admissions only 2024/25

  • If your appeal relates to an in-year admission, you should submit your appeal within 20 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful. 

  2024/25 application round

  • If your appeal is for a child transferring to a junior school or starting an infant or primary school in September 2025 and you are told of the decision on 17th April 2025 (National Offer Day) you should submit your appeal by 17th May 2025. 
  • If you are told of an infant, junior or primary decision after 17th April 2025 or it relates to an in-year admission, you should submit your appeal within 20 days of being told that your application was unsuccessful. 

How to appeal

  • If you'd prefer a paper form and hard copy of these notes, please email the admissions and transport team: admissions.transport@derbyshire.gov.uk who will arrange for an appeal form and notes to be sent to you.
  • You should make your appeal within 20 school days of receiving notification that the application was unsuccessful.
  • Forms for decisions notified on 17 April 2025 must be returned by 17 May 2025 and forms for decisions notified after that date within 20 school days of receiving notification that the application was unsuccessful.
